Windows 3.2

This variant of OS was worked out with the purpose to launch Windows in Japan. Specially created version of Windows 3.1 was released in 1993 in the Japanese language. No additional characteristics were supplemented.

Windows NT

Windows 95

Developers improved operating system by means of easy web integration, USB and DVD support, which was previously unavailable for Windows users. Windows ME

Windows ME was presented in 2000 and recognized as the worst OS because of its unstable character. Computers running on this OS suffered from data loss. Windows XP

It is the most prevalent OS among modern users. The distinctive feature of that edition was the capability to change the desktop appearance. It became possible to place animals, nature or even photos on the desktop of a PC or a laptop. Apart from this feature, Windows XP had stable platform what made its use more reliable from the point of view of consumers. Three dimension gaming available with Windows XP put out DOS gaming forever. New variants of icons were designed for this version of Windows. The facilities of Windows XP are numerous, among them are: access to recently used apps and files, built-in CD burning, support of ZIP files and so on. In general, it brought people to the new era of computer facilities.

Windows Vista

Launched in 2006 Vista developers aimed at changing the appearance of Windows preceding version (XP). As compared to Mac Windows XP looked a bit out-of-date. Thus, to change the situation Vista with its good-looking effects and themes appeared. Nevertheless, the creators faced troubles connected with slow running of OS. By this reason the popularity of Windows OS lost ground.

Windows 7

Holding dear its reputation Microsoft team created Windows 7, which contained all benefits of Vista visual effects and improved its speed. With Windows 7 the start and run of programs was several times faster, which was appreciated by computer users.

Windows 8

This OS is able to run on devices with touchscreen user interface. Still it is available for PCs and laptops with a keyboard and a mouse.
